Yes. Every kit includes 2 fence/fascia brackets which require a one time installation on a fascia board for houses without gutters (these work well fixed to the apex at the front and back). Leaf guards can have a small cut out made where the gutter mount attaches.
One kit should be sufficient for an average-sized home. However, we are happy to advise on kit requirements. If you would like a customized consultation please email a photo of your roof to info@waspwildfire.com.
Yes, even if the roof is a non combustible material, the water on the roof will drip into the gutters and dampen down any materials inside. The sprinkler stream above the roof will raise the humidity level around the structure as well as dampen any combustibles around the structure to provide perimeter protection and lessen the structure’s ignitability.
Yes, the sprinkler plastic was purposely chosen to resist UV rays so no fading of color should occur (at least not within the first couple of years).
The kit does not include an installation pole. The kits can easily be installed with any household pole such as a painter’s pole or pool pole or even with a broom handle.
Yes, the fascia brackets can be painted.
Yes, the sprinkler stream above the roof will raise the humidity level around the structure and break down into mist or droplets to rain onto the roof. The stream should not directly impact the roof as this could cause water damage to shingles or ridge caps. The sprinkler stream above the roof will also dampen any combustibles around the structure to provide perimeter protection and lessen the structure’s ignitability.
It is uncommon for water to leak from the plugs and connections, however if you do notice leakage this can usually be remedied with 1-2 wraps of teflon tape.
The Nelson R10T which is a 360 degree rotator will discharge approximately 1.5 gallons per minute and will function at a lower water pressure (approx. 20psi) due to the narrower nozzle.
If you have questions about water pressure, please reach out to us at info@waspwildfire.com
The sprinkler heads included in our kits are designed to work on low water pressure, and can usually handle up to two sprinkler heads. To ensure you have the correct set-up, we strongly recommend that you try out the placement and functionality of the sprinkler arrangement ahead of an actual emergency.
If you have questions about sprinkler placement or pressure, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team at info@waspwildfire.com.
If you are located in an area with a temp below freezing in the winter months, we would suggest removing the equipment and storing inside.
If your home is on a metered water system, you may want to consider installing a water timer with your sprinkler system. This could help to avoid costly water charges in the event of an extended evacuation. WASP would recommend that the time be set to repeat a cycle of on for 10-15 minutes and off for 20-30 minutes.
We recommend having an irrigation contractor tie into an existing irrigation zone, a standard GHT hose bib, that can be turned on/off as a “zone” with a smart irrigation controller which offers remote control capabilities.
Yes, there are some items to consider when placing your sprinklers:
Make sure the stream is elevated above the roof’s ridgeline and any taller objects such as chimneys
Place the sprinkler at the highest point available on the structure - this will help avoid impacting the roof while also maximizing the the coverage of the water stream
Try to avoid excessive overlap of sprinkler streams - place sprinklers where you can cover the most area with the least amount of water
The guttermount bracket has two sprinkler mount ports - use the angled sprinkler mount port to send the stream of water upwards
To prevent water damage, avoid aiming the sprinklers directly at the roof tiles, into a chimney or at the side of a wall or chimney
Our team is always here to help. If you would like assistance in locating appropriate placements for your sprinkler brackets, please email info@waspwildfire.com
No, if you are part of a fire department or government organization please email info@waspwildfire.com to inquire about our community program.
